Intelligent and Athletic, Our German Shepherd Dog Luna

by Daniel Lynch
(Novato, CA)

What a view!

What a view!

Hello Total-German-Shepherd.com, This is my father and I's German Shepherd Dog named Luna.

We picked her up from the Marin Humane Society in Novato, CA when she was about eight months old and have had her for a year and a half.
She is almost two years old now.

Apparently she and her brother were dropped off by a concerned family member who said they were being uncared for by an abusive owner. Her brother was euthanized for unknown reasons.

We were told he was too aggressive and they weren't even going to give Luna to my father and I at first, but consented soon after my father's past ownership of a German Shepherd was made
apparent.

Luna has progressed immensely since we have owned her. She loves to play with tennis balls and is very friendly to people and all dogs. She is most definitely an alpha type though.

My dad takes her to the dog park, where she gets along with her dog friends, and short walks daily. I get the honor of working out with her and taking her for long hikes; as seen here in the picture I have submitted for the monthly contest.(15 miles north of San Francisco)

She easily handled this 10 mile up-hill hike. She is a very loving German Shepherd and we feel blessed to have her in our presence. My father is single and divorced and Luna gives him some well needed companionship as well as giving me a run for my money in fitness.

I have used your website for a lot of information and saw your contest. So, thank you for taking the time and consideration in making your monthly choice. I look forward in hearing your decision. Thanks.

Take care, Daniel Lynch
