Meet Our 90lb Bundle of Joy, Our German Shepherd Grant

by Kelly Lucas

Hello, my name is Kelly and this is a picture of my 90lb bundle of joy, Grant. Grant is about 3 1/2 years old, we do not know his exact age because we rescued him from the SPCA when he was about 1 1/2 yrs old. We don't know a lot about his life before us, only that he was found underweight as a stray in a bad part of town.

He was initially very scared by men, but quickly out grew that fear as he feel in love with the men of his new family. Over the past couple years we had Grant as part of our family we have feel deeper and deeper in love with him as he did us.

He’s the goofiest, most lovable, and protective dog you could ask for. From an outsider he can look so intimidating but when they come up to him all he wants to do is leap in their arms like a lap dog. He also really enjoys spooning his mommy and daddy at night, and is very spoiled and has his own bedroom with a real bed, but he’ll soon be sharing that with a human baby brother or sister soon.

I know he’ll be an awesome brother, he already plays so well with other children in the family, plus his strong urge to protect will always keep us at ease that we have an extra set of ears and eyes watching out for us.

I love him as if he was my own flesh and blood and would do anything and everything for him.
