Meet Our Rescued German Shepherd, Luca

Hello, My name is Amber and I would like to be included in your GSD of the month contest. The photo attached is of Luca (GSD) and Talia (Husky 5 years old) just lounging around.

My boyfriend and I rescued Luca from the local shelter about 2 weeks ago, he is 5 1/2 months old and weighs 65 lbs. Both of the dogs have become best buddies and love running after one another in the backyard.

Luca is proving to be a very smart boy as he knows commands such as sit, heel, lay down, fetch, and high 5! He's very friendly but also very attentive of his surroundings, especially if there's a squirrel or two in the yard.

If you get him on his back he loves his belly rubbed and even makes a noise of satisfaction (sounds like a grumble). We also have a video of this "phenomena" if you would like to see it.

I'm not sure how to describe his color or hair, but it's not too long and there some silver along with the black and tan. I would also like to know how to find out if he's a purebred.
