GSD coat color question






i am going to buy a new german shepherd puppy and now at 5 weeks it has a black strip on its back and the rest is brown/tan.

What will this puppy look like when it is older or what will be the pattern of the coat, example black saddle back?

I'm no professional, but I'm pretty certain you wont' be able to tell the characteristics of the puppy's coat by looking at him now. You'd probably need a closer look at both parents, and even then it would likely be a guess.

My puppy had a one inch or so wide black stripe down his back beginning at his shoulder all the way to his tail for about a month, then his back and body began to fill in completely with black. He's got a beautiful coat and is healthy, which is my true concern.
