My German Shepherd Friend, RIP

It’s not fair, you died saving my life. I feel cheated somehow. I would wholeheartedly have traded places with you and I believe you knew it. Yet here I am typing through the torrents of tears.

Your sacrifice will not go unnoticed. My only regret is that I lived through our battle, and you did not. I can’t stand the thought of being without you. It tears at my soul that this happened.

I miss you, I love you. We were the perfect team. We had so many good years ahead of us. You trusted me with your life and I failed you, yet you never hesitated to defend mine. I will honor you every day until my death. I swear it.

I’m so sorry. May you forgive me, my friend, my protector, my guardian angel, my dog, I love you.


Total German Shepherd: I am so sorry for your loss and that you lost your friend. You didn't say exactly what happened but from what you have described here it makes me think that your GSD died trying to protect you. At any rate, the loss of a valuable and close friend is never easy and I wish you comfort in your time of loss.
