My German Shepherd Mix, Sandi, RIP

by Abby

Dear Rainbow Bridge my dog that I had wasn't really a German Shepherd. She was very old. She was a mixed breed. And she was part German Shepherd, Husky, and Beagle and she had floppy ears and a little white tip on the very end of her tail.

And her name was Sandi and we had her since she was a puppy and at the age of 15 years old we had to put her down. And we cremated her and it was the most saddest day of my life.

Each day that kept on passing by I cried and cried. And still to this day I miss her so much. I really wish she's still here. I copied a really good song just the lyrics and it's dedicated to my dog Sandi who is now in Rainbow Bridge.

It's by Kenny Cheney and it's called don't blink.

I turned on the evening news
Saw a old man being interviewed
Turning a hundred and two today
Asked him what's the secret to life
He looked up from his old pipe
Laughed and said "All I can say is."

Don't blink
Just like that you're six years old and you take a nap and you
Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blink
You just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your "better half"
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don't blink

I was glued to my tv when it looked like he looked at me and said
"Best start putting first things first."
Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can't flip it over and start again
Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth

So I've been tryin' ta slow it down
I've been tryin' ta take it in
In this here today, gone tomorrow world we're livin' in

Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster then you think
So Don't blink

Naw, don't blink
Life Goes Faster Than You Think

Sandi/RIP
by: Deborah

You can rest assured if your dog had a single drop
of GSD blood, know in your heart Sandi's loyalty to and love for you were strong. She was ready to leave the earth because she knew she had taken you as far as she could in your lessons.

GSD's teach us respect, loyalty, unconditional love, joy and happiness. Your pain will ease with time, although I would be fibbing if I told you you would miss her less since I still miss mine daily. You will get through this, I promise.

The best legacy Sandi left you was a love and respect for GSD's, and some day you will find another GSD that is right for you. No one can replace Sandi, nor should you try, but she left you with the knowledge that her breed was the best, bar none!!

Peace, and Vaya Con Dios (Go with God)
